My interest in chiropractic care began when I was a patient. While simply cleaning my bathtub, which I had done a million times before, I did the infamous twist and bend and then “pop” went my lower back. For a period of about 6 months I could barely walk without pain. Basically my back was in bad shape.

It took me 15 minutes to get up from my chair at a work meeting. Being somewhat athletic I tried everything from ice, to heat, exercise, stretching, rest, anti-inflammatories, muscle relaxers, and even pain killers. I found some relief, but I still was at about only 50%.

My girlfriend (now my wife) wanted me to see someone else. I decided to see a chiropractor. From the first visit on, I felt that I was getting further with my recovery than I had in the past six months.

Before my injury, my body was compensating from all the daily stress we have and bigger traumas throughout my life. Cleaning the bathtub did not totally cause the injury, the injury was going to happen sooner or later do to the multiple layers of life that had built up. These layers included bodily traumas, bad posture, mental and physical stress, the aging of my body, and daily prolonged activities of life like sitting in traffic or at a computer.

All these factors put my health at a structural risk that brought me to that high level of pain resulting from the simple ordinary act of cleaning a bath tub. Regular chiropractic health care has helped my body to function in a more efficient manner than it did before my injury. I now get adjusted on a regular basis and believe that everyone can benefit from chiropractic care in conjunction with taking care of their bodies on a daily basis.
